Before becoming an attorney, Karis began her professional career in education, serving as a special education teacher and later as a district-level administrator supporting students, families, and campus teams across a public school system. That experience shaped the way she practices law today. She understands that legal decisions are rarely just legal. They often affect children, family stability, finances, school support, future planning, and a person’s sense of peace. Her background also includes public service and policy work, including service as Legislative Counsel on Capitol Hill. Across each chapter of her career, Karis has focused on helping people navigate complex systems with dignity, clarity, and practical support.
